How to make your first $1,000 on Trybe

by Data Coach Claire | Oct 23, 2026

Hi Reader!

In yesterday’s email, I told you how I’ve been dabbling with a new app called Trybe (in addition to continuing to do Amazon Influencer) and how I’ve made over $1,000 in my first few weeks on the app. However, I’ve noticed that most people who download Trybe are excited about it, but then don’t really know where to start, so they don’t end up earning anything from it because they peter out before even submitting any content.

Here is your step-by-step on how to start earning on Trybe:

1.Download the app.

2. Set up your profile.

Make sure that your profile picture is a close-up of your face so that it’s clear what you look like, that it’s well lit, and that there are not any other people in the picture. Submit up to five examples of your featured work. These don’t have to be perfect. Any of your best vertical videos will do. You can swap these out later once you create more content. Make sure to also fill out the other fields on your profile, like your age and location, to give brands a better understanding of who you are.

3. Go to the Discover Brands tab and start applying to work with brands.

My advice: don’t apply to hundreds of brands. Apply to 50 to 100 you actually want to work with, brands whose products you can talk about with real conviction.

You’ll plan to likely get accepted from about 5% to 10% of the brands that you apply for. In the message to brand section, add a sentence or two that show that you understand what their product is, and a sentence or two about any relevant prior experience you’ve had, like:
– how many brands you’ve worked with on Amazon Influencer
– how many pieces of content you’ve made
– how many followers you have on social
– anything to show that you are not just a brand-new content creator and that you have some experience

If there’s a brand that you really want to work with, you could also take 30 seconds to record a video talking to the brand and then upload that as your example video when you apply to work with them. You could say, “Hi brand, my name is Reader. Here is the type of content I’ve made before and the success I’ve helped other brands achieve. This is why I would love to work with you. I think it would be a great fit. Thanks for accepting me into your tribe.”

To look for brands to apply to work with, you could use a tool like Oink Blue (free for Oink Pro members) to filter through brands, or you can use the search feature to search for keywords for types of products you would like to promote (like the type of products that you have enjoyed promoting on Amazon Influencer or on social media, like):
– suitcases
– preschooler
– baby
– mechanic
– horoscope
– perfume, etc.
Then you’ll find brands that match those things.

When you are applying to brands on your phone, you’ll notice that there is also a save button to save a list of brands. If there is a brand that you are really interested in and would like to come back to later, then you can save it. The brand can approve or deny your request, and after 2 weeks, it will time out, so then you could apply again. When you apply to work with a brand, they can see:

  • how many videos you’ve submitted in the last month on Trybe
  • how many brands you’ve worked with
  • your profile information
  • how much revenue you’ve driven on Trybe

Getting those first few brands to accept you as a brand-new creator is the hardest. Once you already have some videos submitted and are generating revenue for other brands, then you could come back to those brands that you’ve saved and apply again.

4. Request samples

When a brand accepts you, then if it’s a physical product you need a sample for, go on to their profile to request a sample. After the brand sends the sample, you have 3 weeks to complete a first video. If it’s something that you could make content on without the sample, even including screen recordings of their website, then you can go ahead and start making content.

5. Make and submit your content

  • Look for content ideas on the top formats on the brand’s page.
  • If any other creators have made content for that brand before, you could also jot down some hook ideas from this list of hooks.
  • Submit a few videos (like 2 to 5 videos) for each brand that accepts you, and see if they approve your content and if you’re able to start earning on it.
  • In this phase, consider it as if you and the brand are dating but not exclusive. If they like you and you like them, then you’ll deepen the relationship.

Expect there to be a 1-3 week delay between being accepted by a brand and actually earning money. If you need a physical product, then you’ll need to wait to make that, and then you’ll create the content, then submit the content to the brand. They might take about a week or so to approve your video, and then another week or so to actually start running it as an ad.

6. Double down on the brands that are paying you well.

After you’ve submitted ~50 videos or so, you will likely start to see a few brands become the ones that are paying you the most, so double down on those ones and re-apply to bigger brands you saved.

After you’ve submitted a few videos to a brand and they have approved them, then you could also message the brand on Trybe to ask them for a retainer.

A retainer is when a brand pays you a set amount for a bundle of videos. My first retainer was $1,000 for 20 approved videos. Usually about $50/video is pretty standard, with $30-$100/video as a normal range.

You can get a retainer either when the brand offers one or you ask.

After I completed that first $1,000 retainer for the brand, I asked them for another retainer, and they’ve now set me up with $2,000 for another 40 videos.

Using all of these steps above, I’m already earning commissions each day on Trybe, am growing my daily earnings, and am getting set up for new retainers. I think it is a great income stream to add to your content creation stack.

If you have any questions, reply so that I can note them down for a future email or video to do about Trybe.

To your success,

Claire
